These terms govern your use of the New Medical School Australia (NewMed) student information system and of the text messaging program described below. By using this system, or by consenting to receive text messages, you agree to these terms.
Use of this system
You may use this system only for lawful purposes and only in connection with your own application, enrolment or duties. You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it, interfere with its operation, or use it to send unsolicited communications. Account credentials are personal to you and must not be shared.
Accuracy of information
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information and documents you provide. NewMed may verify what you submit, and may decline or withdraw an application or enrolment where information is found to be false or misleading.
Messaging program
- Program description. NewMed sends text messages relating to your application, enrolment and studies. Messages consist of one-time verification codes, status updates and reminders.
- Consent. You will receive messages at a mobile number only after express consent has been given for that number, either by agreeing on screen or by agreeing to a statement read aloud to you by staff. Consent is not a condition of applying, of enrolling, or of any purchase.
- Frequency. Message frequency varies.
- Cost. Message and data rates may apply. Charges are set by your mobile carrier and are your responsibility.
- Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving messages. You will receive a confirmation, after which no further messages will be sent to that number unless you opt in again.
- Help. Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or use the contact form linked below.
- Delivery. Delivery depends on your mobile carrier's network and is not guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
Personal information collected through this system or through the messaging program is handled as described in the privacy policy. Mobile telephone numbers and SMS consent are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Availability
NewMed aims to keep this system available but does not guarantee uninterrupted access, and may suspend access for maintenance or to protect the security of the system.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
